There are often many questions concerning anointing with oil. While this page does not claim to answer all of them, we sincerely hope it answers many of your questions.
Question: When you anoint a person or something with oil, does this mean God will do what you ask?
Answer: The act of anointing with oil is an act of our submission to the will of God and His sovereignty in our lives. It does not obligate God to do something according to our wishes and desires. But He will answer us according to what is best.
Question: Who are some of the people in scripture who anointed with oil or were anointed with oil?
Answer: In scripture, there are many people named who used oil in anointing or they were anointed. Click here for a partial listing.
Apply the oil in the name of the Lord. Then in faith ask the Father to meet your needs and the needs of others. The power is His; the privilege to pray is yours.
